The event commenced with a warm welcome from Ms. Ashwija L A, the Master of Ceremony and one of the newest interns. Her confident introduction set a positive tone for the day.
A beautiful flute rendition by Manoj Kumar N R enhanced the atmosphere during the invocation.
Ms. Diana Hombal - Director, delivered the welcome address, briefly introducing the meaning of Lumiere and emphasizing the internship program’s core motto: to enlighten and empower young minds in the digital marketing space.
9:40 AM – 9:45 AM | Lighting the Lamp
All guests, speakers, trainers, Edcite representatives, and new interns participated in the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the start of a bright and enlightening journey.
9:45 AM – 10:00 AM | Keynote Address
Tony G. Thomas, founder of Tekvocation, delivered the keynote speech, outlining the vision behind the internship program. He emphasized three key areas:
The importance of communication as a foundational skill.
Critical thinking as a core competence that would be nurtured throughout the internship.
Learning as a continuous journey, not a finite destination.
Tony further discussed marketing, highlighting that it is about creating awareness, understanding needs, and providing solutions, rather than forcing products or services onto people.
10:00 AM – 10:15 AM | Program Overview: Shaping Tomorrow’s Tech Marketers
Dr. Sandhya Sheshadri, Program Lead, engaged the interns with thought-provoking questions on their thoughts about the Digital Marketing Internship and the role of engineers in digital marketing. She pointed out how the program focuses on nurturing analytical skills, technical expertise, and problem-solving abilities, which are essential for the growing demand for tech-savvy marketers. She also explained that the 9-month internship is designed to emphasize long-term development, project-based learning, and mentoring.
10:15 AM – 10:30 AM | Introduction of Mentors, Trainers, and Key Faculty
Ms. Shruthi Prabhakar, Technical Lead, presented a brief video introducing the founder, directors, and key faculty members, giving the interns a closer look at the dedicated team supporting their journey.
10:30 AM – 10:40 AM | Success Story Highlight
Mrs. Vinutha, a former intern, shared her inspiring journey of returning to her profession after a long gap. She spoke about how Tekvocation’s internship program empowered her to successfully transition to her current role as a software engineer at Edcite.
10:40 AM – 11:00 AM | Inside Edcite Mysore: Work Initiatives and Personal Journey
Software engineers Mr. Ahmed Shoaieb Akhtar and Mr. V. Hemanth Kumar from Edcite Mysore shared insights into their work initiatives and personal journeys, inspiring the new batch of interns to embrace the opportunities ahead.
11:00 AM – 11:15 AM | Vote of Thanks
Technical Trainer, Mr. Prabhu Shankar M, expressed gratitude to the speakers, organizers, and interns, acknowledging the teamwork and effort that contributed to the event’s success.
Ms. Diana Hombal pointed out that expressing gratitude to the person delivering the 'vote of thanks' is often overlooked. She acknowledged Prabhu as a dynamic, go-getter, particularly when it comes to managing office operations. She highlighted how he consistently steps up to take on responsibilities, in addition to his technical assignments.
